Maintaining mental wellbeing

Women in full-time employment are nearly twice as likely to have a common mental health problem as full-time employed men (19.8% vs 10.9%).1 Building a network and finding ways to maintain a resilient mind-set can help.

Mental Health UK’s chapter in the Yes Business Can entrepreneur guide shares why it pays to take wellbeing seriously in your business. And it also provides practical guidance on how to identify signs and what you can do to support you and your team.

Why is supporting female entrepreneurs important?

The findings from the Alison Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship has identified the need for industry to better support the needs of women in business. Only 1 in 3 UK entrepreneurs is female: a gender gap equivalent to 1.1 million missing businesses. And if women started and scaled new businesses at the same rate as UK men, then up to £250bn of new value could be added to the UK economy.2
