Growing dental group acquires new Aberdeen practice
A North East dental firm has acquired full ownership of its fifth practice, with support of a six-figure funding package from Bank of Scotland.
Crown Dental Group has been acquired by Vikram Kavi’s growing network of four dentistry practices, a dental lab and an orthodontic and implant practice. Located in central Aberdeen, this mainly private practice offers bespoke treatments including implants, cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. It is also one of the only practices in the North East that offers these treatments without the need for dental impressions.
A growing portfolio
Vikram is now sole owner of the practice and the funding has also enabled his partner to step down from a managerial role to concentrate solely on dental care.
Vikram’s portfolio of practices also includes Deeside Dental Care in Banchory, Banff Dental Practice in Banff, Academy Dental Care in Aberdeen, and Thistle Dental in Aberdeen. Combined, the network treats more than 40,000 patients across the North East.
“Having the bank by our side has enabled us to provide for the increasing number of patients looking for modern cosmetic procedures, and digital, impression free dentistry.”

Vikram added: “I opened my first practice in 2010 and have worked to grow the business across the North East as the demand for bespoke dentistry continues to rise.
“My plan is to keep expanding the business portfolio over the next five years and possibly add to it while offering patients the highest quality care.”
The group now employs 70 full and part-time employees work across the business. Since acquiring Crown Dental Group, an additional 5 members of staff have been employed to expand the range of cosmetic treatments available to patients.
“Vikram can now use his expertise as one of the UK’s top dental surgeons to fulfil ambitious business growth plans, while providing new, bespoke treatments to patients.”
