Log in to Business Internet Banking

Get support with logging in to Business Internet Banking.  If you are a new user, please follow the steps for first-time login.  If you are an existing user and unable to login you will find guidance in the Log in support section. You can also get support with using your card reader.

First time log in

Follow the steps below to login to Business Internet Banking for the first time.

Before you start, you’ll need:

  1. Your User ID – this will have been posted or emailed to you.
  2. Your card reader – this will have been posted to you.
  3. Authentication card – this will have been posted to you.
    If you have other business accounts with us, you can use the authentication cards attached to them.
  4. PIN – this will have been posted to you.
  5. Temporary password – this will have been sent to you by text.

You must have all the above before proceeding, unless you use personal internet banking with Bank of Scotland.  Existing Bank of Scotland personal internet banking users can go straight to step three.

Step 1

Go to the Business Internet Banking  login page.

In the ‘User ID’ field, enter the User ID that we sent you by either post or email.  

 

If you already have Internet Banking with us, your business User ID will be the same as your personal User ID.  If your User ID does not match, please call us on 0345 300 2924.

Next, enter the temporary password that we sent you by text into the ‘Password’ field.  You’ll then be prompted to create your own password.

You’ll be asked to create your memorable information. This might be used to identify you when logging in.  

 

If you use Bank of Scotland personal online banking, this step will not be displayed.

Next, we’ll ask you to use your card and reader. Check that the last 5 digits of the card are the same as the ones displayed on the login screen.  You can amend the digits by clicking in the box on the screen.

 

Select the ‘Identify’ button on your card reader.  Use the PIN you received by post and select ‘Enter’.

 

An 8-digit number will be displayed on the card reader.  Key this number into the box on the logon page and press ‘Continue’.  

Trusting the browser on your device

This is a security feature.  Trusting your browser makes logging in quicker as you will only need to key in characters from your memorable information and won’t need to use your card and reader.

You’ll eventually be asked to trust the browser on your device.

If you login using a different browser or device, the trusted status won’t carry over and you’ll be asked again if you want to trust the device.

First-time log in FAQs

    1. Your User ID.  We’ll send this to you in the post or by email.
    2. A card reader.  We’ll post this to you so allow 7 – 10 working days for it to arrive.  If you have other business accounts with is, you can use the card reader you already have.
    3. An authentication card. We’ll post this to you so allow up to 7 – 10 working days for it to arrive. If you have an existing Bank of Scotland business account with us, you can use the authentication cards attached to them. 
    4. A PIN.  We’ll post this to you so allow up to 7 – 10 working days for it to arrive.
  • If you don’t know your PIN, you’ll need to call us to order a new one.  Call us on 0345 300 0268, or (+44) 131 549 8724 from abroad.  Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday 9am to 2pm.  This excludes bank holidays.

    If you know the PIN but it’s not working, you’ll need to unlock your PIN.

    To do this:

    1. Visit a Lloyds Bank or Bank of Scotland Cashpoint©.
    2. Select ‘Pin services’ then ‘Unlock PIN’.
    3. Follow the on-screen guidance to unlock the PIN.

    This can only be done at UK ATMs; if you are outside of the UK, you'll need to give is a call and we'll order a new PIN for you. Call us on (+44) 131 549 8724 from abroad.  Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday 9am to 2pm.  This excludes bank holidays. 

  • Card readers generate unique, one tome passcodes used to identify you and to confirm some of your online banking activities, especially payments.

    We’ll prompt you each time you need to use it.  Simple on-screen instructions will always guide you through the steps to take.

    Your card reader holds no personal information about you and does not need to be connected to a computer.

  • You’ll need to apply for each business separately via the Register for Business Internet Banking page.

    You must the use the User ID you currently use.  

    New accounts that sit within businesses that have already been registered for,  will automatically be available to view when you login. 

  • Yes, if you use Bank of Scotland’s internet banking for your personal accounts, you can login to Business Internet Banking using your personal Internet Banking details.

    You will also be able to use your Personal or Business Banking Debit Card in your Card Reader - just remember the last 5 digits of the card need to match to that shown on the screen. Click in the box and amend if needed.

  • Trusted device is a security feature that will authenticate the device and browser that you are using. It will allow you to choose to be able to use just your memorable information when logging on to Business Internet Banking without the need for a card and card reader.
