Here are some common questions and answers to help you use your Card Reader.

The card reader can be used when you login. You'll also need it when you are setting up new recipients, standing orders and bulk payments.

To increase the size of display, simply click on the '0' button on your reader. This will increase the size of the information displayed.

Need to use the card reader right now? Any other UK bank card reader should work with your card in the same way. The card reader holds no personal information about you, so if a colleague has one you should be able to use theirs. As long as you have your unique card and PIN, you will still be able to generate passcodes.
How to request a replacement card reader:
- Log on to Business Internet Banking.
- Select ‘More actions’ then ‘Account services’.
- Next select ‘Order an additional card reader’ and follow the on-screen guidance.

How to unlock your card reader:
- Go to the Business Internet Banking login page.
- Select ‘Having trouble with your card reader?’ link.
- Follow the steps and make a note of the reference number provided.
- Call the Business Internet Banking Helpdesk and once you’ve been verified the Helpdesk will unlock your card reader. Call us on 0345 300 2924, or (+44) 131 339 8620 from abroad. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm, excluding bank holidays.

You can use a Business Internet Banking Authentication card.

If you know your PIN but have locked it, visit any Lloyds bank or Bank of Scotland Cashpoint© and select Unlock my PIN from the on-screen option.
This can only be done at UK ATMs; if you are outside of the UK, you'll need to give is a call and we'll order a new PIN for you. Call us on (+44) 1733 347 338 from abroad. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm, excluding bank holidays.

No, your card is designed for business accounts. We use different verification procedures, such as enhanced internet authentication (EIA), to protect our personal customers and their information.

Yes, it is possible to use a card reader from another UK bank as long as you have your card and PIN, you should be able to generate passcodes.

Yes, you can order an additional card reader in Business Internet Banking.
- Log on to Business Internet Banking.

We assume you want to use the same card you used the last time you logged in. If this isn't the case, over type the last five digits displayed on screen, with the last five digits of the card you want to use.

You get three attempts to use the correct PIN before it shows as locked.

Your PIN cannot be unblocked using an overseas ATM. We’ll need to issue a new card and PIN. If you are abroad call us on (+44) 131 549 8724. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm. This excludes bank holidays.
