Frequently asked questions
Here are some common questions and answers to help you use your Card Reader.

The card reader can be used when you log in. You'll also need it when you are setting up new recipients, standing orders and bulk payments.

To increase the size of display, simply click on the '0' button on your reader. This will increase the size of the information displayed.

You can order a new card reader through Business Internet Banking.
- Login to Business Internet Banking
- Select ‘Admin’ from the account overview screen
- Scroll down to ‘Services and requests’ and select ‘Another card reader’ and follow the instructions.
If you have registered for the Business banking app you can message us in the app to order a replacement card reader.
- In the app, go to ‘Support’ and then ‘Message us’
- Ask the assistant to ‘Order a new card reader’
- We’ll send your new card reader in the post.
You can order a replacement card reader by calling us on 0345 300 0268. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm and Saturday, 9am to 2pm. This excludes bank holidays.

You can use a Business Internet Banking Authentication card.

If you know your PIN but have locked it, visit any Lloyds bank or Bank of Scotland Cashpoint© and select Unlock my PIN from the on-screen option.
This can only be done at UK ATMs; if you are outside of the UK, you'll need to give is a call and we'll order a new PIN for you. Call us on (+44) 1733 347 338 from abroad. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm, excluding bank holidays.

No, your card is designed for business accounts. We use different verification procedures, such as enhanced internet authentication (EIA), to protect our personal customers and their information.

Yes, it is possible to use a card reader from another UK bank as long as you have your card and PIN, you should be able to generate passcodes.

We assume you want to use the same card you used the last time you logged in. If this isn't the case, over type the last five digits displayed on screen, with the last five digits of the card you want to use.

You get three attempts to use the correct PIN before it shows as locked.

Your PIN cannot be unblocked using an overseas ATM. We’ll need to issue a new card and PIN. If you are abroad call us on (+44) 131 549 8724. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm. This excludes bank holidays.
